Charming and historic home great place for our NOLA holiday
We were charmed by this special and historic home. We loved the decor and unique atmosphere. The fantastic screened in porch and the lush back garden perfect for our evening gatherings. The 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms worked great for our group of 5 friends. Plenty of room and a nice kitchen helped make this a special place to be. Will could not have been nicer or more helpful...we are all sending happy thoughts that more bookings for TV/Movie shows will be arriving soon :-)
The home is located about a mile from the French Quarter. We took uber/lyft everywhere and never waited more than a few minutes. There aren't any real close stores but Whole Foods is < 1 mile. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. We would totally stay here again.
I will mention the drawbacks that some people may find about staying in a historic house...most of the living space is up a beautiful and dramatic flight of stairs, so you do need to be able to go up and down. The air conditioning is not house wide, but does exist in the bedrooms/bathrooms.
Beautiful home, fantastic host!
My brothers and I brought our parents to New Orleans for our mother's birthday, and we are delighted we had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful, historic home! It is exactly as advertised, "elegantly decayed," with gorgeous old features and interesting objects everywhere you look. You can spend hours inside the home, discovering the history of New Orleans as you explore each room, and hours more in the garden admiring the foliage and eclectic decor that Will has collected here. We had a few rainy days during our trip, so the covered patio became a refuge for us to still feel like we were 'in it' and connecting with each other. The neighborhood is lively and safe — we felt comfortable walking around the neighborhood, and back-and-forth to the French Quarter, all hours of the day and night.
Will was an incredibly gracious host, reaching out occasionally to make sure we were comfortable and providing thoughtful local recommendations based on things we were interested in seeing and doing. We had mentioned that we hoped to experience a jazz funeral procession, and Will came running over to the house (he lives a few doors down) to make sure we didn't miss it as one rolled right past us! That was a great experience, and we so appreciated Will making sure we didn't miss it.
We would definitely recommend this home to friends and family, and would love to stay again on a future visit to New Orleans!
Thank you so much. I'm glad you had a pleasant stay.
This home is amazing, and the host, Will, is a wonderful host. Would definitely stay agai
Will's home is a beautiful mansion in the historic Treme neighborhood, and it's absolutely gorgeous! He was a great host as well and very accommodating of our ragtag group of friends who stayed there. The house is located within walking distance of the French Quarter and the Marigny/Frenchman Street area. If you are up for a truly unique New Orleans experience, this is a perfect place to stay
Historic and unique
The house is absolutely lovely. Clearly well maintained, but you feel like you are staying in a different time. The history of the house is captivating.
Will was friendly and accommodating, and there were plenty of clean towels for all 6 of us. You can definitely walk from Bourbon Street, or it's a quick can ride.
Recommend this place wholeheartedly!
This is a great stay! I was excited to stay here based on the description but once I got to the house, I was in awe of how gorgeous the house is. The house was comfortable and has every amenity you need. The awesome sound of a cardinal in the courtyard every morning and the occasional visit by a friendly cat from time to time made me feel like home. The host was nice enough to give me a brief history of the home which was awesome sharing with anyone I spoke with the whole time I was in NOLA. He also has great suggestions for where to eat and go. The only bad thing that I can say about my stay at this amazing home is that I didn't stay long enough. I'm a big walker and it took me about 12 minutes to walk to the quarter however an Uber ride was minutes away. There are great restaurants near by in this great neighborhood. I was used to staying at one place in the quarter for the last 10 years and this was a last minute change. Needless to say, I will always try to stay here before staying anywhere else from now on. Thank you for everything Will and I hope to see you again.
Will was a fantastic host! He was so accommodating when we arrived early morning. We absolutely loved the house! Our 3 daughters were in love with it! It was close enough to the French Quarter to walk but we mostly Ubered, especially at night. The house really made us feel like we were a part of NOLA history. It really has kept its charm. It is extremely well maintained and clean. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves! Thanks again! Lori, Verna, Katie, Carly & Maggie
Awwww! Thank you so much. We’re glad you had a good time!
