This is our second stay at Boathound. We love the easy access for our boat and the way the property is perfectly set up to accommodate for all our boating and fishing gear. Quite and relaxing stay with beautiful canal and sunset views.
What a great place to relax and have fun fishing. Even though the fish were scarce we still caught around 3 good size fish to eat each day. Also, the conversations with the neighbour's were plentiful, pleasant and most kind - if you get a chance to meet Ron the neighbour, say Hi from us please.
The semi-detached house is tidy and contains everything a person needs. It was short of TLC, so I think we did a good job over the 9 days.
Shops are in walking distance of the unit and there is a park across the road to run the dogs.
The hot water system makes a crazy loud noise, so put the kids in that room.
First impression were wow, we want to buy it, and I am sure you will love it as much as we did.
Thanks Ken and Pauline
My wife and I have had a wonderful stay at the Boat Hound, perhaps the best holiday we've ever had! This place has it all and perfectly captures that relaxed Bribie Island vibe. We also loved the art work which really adds to the holiday house vibe. Thank you from both of us.
All of the artwork is by local artists, including some by Pauline Townsend. All of Pauline's work is signed.
Unsigned works were given to Pauline by local artists with whom she has worked & is appreciated by her & husband,Ken.
We had a great holiday.
The house is really spacious for a duplex but didn't get the morning sun (in summer that would be great) so after breakfast we took a short stroll to buy the papers (about 1 km round trip) or a longer one to the water. Lots of days we lunched out at one of the many clubs, hotels and eateries. The afternoons were really warm and the sun came right to the outdoor dining area where I lounged around with a novel or puzzle book. We caught a few fish off the pontoon whilst watching the boats. Everything we needed was there to BBQ or cook meals. A big fridge and freezer and lots of seating and lazing space.
Thank You, Janice!
We both hope you can come again to this lovely Island & enjoy its relaxing lifestyle.
Regards Ken & Pauline
Prepare to be (unpleasantly) surprised!
On arrival, you'll first discover the 'house' is actually a duplex. Then, if you arrive in Summer, prepare to sweat a little more as you discover you now need a bucket full of $2 coins to operate the lone air conditioner. If not before, when you purchase your first 4 hour block of air conditioning, you will become well acquainted with the dogs that have stayed before you as pet hair struggles to free itself from the layer of grime coating the outdated decor and substandard furniture throughout the house. Another hint is, if you leave something behind, don't post your review until after receiving it back - the owners are inclined to flip on their promises and return fire with childish accusations and abuse.
