Even though the pictures hint that Podadores is a very special place, arriving at this "farmhouse" (more like "estate"), our expectations were exceeded. It is perfectly situated to easily enjoy all of Mallorca's west coast. We visited Valdemossa, Soller, Deia and the beaches at Deia and Sant Elm, and made a few trips to Palma and just down the road to the sweet little town of Esporeles. There's nothing like enjoying a cocktail in Esporeles at the end of the day while watching village life go by. And we just scratched the surface! We enjoyed fabulous lunches at Marc Fosh and Vermuteria la Rosa in Palma, and another lunch we'll never forget at Ca's Patro March at Cala Deia (worth two trips so you can reserve the first time!). So much to explore -- but we found ourselves racing back to Podadores every day to enjoy the pool, walks through the orange groves and all of the lovely outdoor spaces. Such a stunning, authentic, lovingly restored home. Trust me -- you will never want to leave.
Stayed at Finca Pododores for 9 nights with our daughter and son in law and 15mnth grandson - had a lovely relaxing family time together. The villa is well appointed and cool with efficient AC. Lots of areas to sit and chill out in the sun or shade at all times of the day. We especially enjoyed sitting in the evenings in the 'chill out' area looking across the orange groves to the hills beyond - bliss. The village of Esporles is only a short car ride away and we found everything there that we needed. Very friendly, traditionally Spanish town. The whole area is smart and easy to get around, very convenient for the airport and the welcome we received from the owners, Anthony and Maria was second to none. The crowning glory to this property for us was the swimming pool, which is kept heated to 28 degrees, and the pool house was another lovely area to rest and read. My one and only negative comment would be to ensure that you take plenty of mosquito repellent with you - plug ins are provided for the rooms, but we found we needed to keep spray on at all times. Don't know if this is a conmen problem in the area or a time of year thing.
Overall, a wonderful stay and we will certainly be back if we decide to visit Mallorca in the future.
We stayed the Finca with our 3 children (age 5-13). We couldn't have picked a better base for our holiday in Majorca. The location of the Finca is truly idyllic - peaceful, with lovely views and access to your own orange groves. The children loved picking oranges and making their own juice in the mornings as well as the freedom to play around the grounds and we enjoyed finding a quiet spot in the sunshine. The children also played in the heated pool every day (though it was a bit cool for us). There was ample space for the five of us and when we needed the heating in the evenings the rooms warmed up quickly. The location gives easy access to Palma (drive in 20 minutes) and the stunning North coast. We didn't have any problem parking in any of the locations we visited and at Easter the beaches were all quiet. We often visited Esporles, a few minutes drive away, to eat, have a coffee on the square or visit the supermarket. We would all love to stay at Podadores one day soon.
My husband and I stayed recently in this beautiful and peaceful country home . It was wonderful to wake up every morning to a beautiful view of orange groves and picturesque mountains in the background . It was a wonderful and comfortable house to relax in . We found the beds extremely comfortable . The owners were incredible helpful and hospitable . We are already planning to book again for next year . We already recommended this place to our friends and family . A true gem !
We stayed at this beautiful Finca for two weeks in May. It really is a unique place, in a wonderful position. Some of the most stunning scenic coastal drives are just a short drive through the mountains.
The property itself feels almost like a little rustic Chateau rather than a villa. There are numerous interesting features and a great choice of different seating areas inside and out. We did find the kitchen a little bit small which is fairly normal in Spain, but it does have everything you need and there is a great outdoor BBQ area as well as a portable BBQ next to the loggia. Plus lots of choice of eating places close by in Esporles and not far away in Palma.
A restaurant that we particularly liked was in the town centre of Inca called Romani. We found it when we went to the big market there, although I would avoid market day. There is a much better "Flea" market in Consell every Sunday. If you are into antiques and second hand stuff you will love it.
I don't want to say too much more about the property as there are some nice surprises. Look for the two big Koi Carp. We got quite friendly with them!
After our two weeks there it felt like home and was rather hard to leave.
Oh and lastly the gardens are beautifully maintained and the caretakers are extremely nice, helpful people. The owners too are very easy to communicate with.
Stayed at the villa in late spring and as everyone else has said the pictures do not lie. There were five of us but the villa was well laid out and everyone could find a quiet spot to read, sun bathe or simply sit and look at the views which were beautiful.
We had a car but chose to use the train to visit Palma -station approximately 2 miles away with plenty of free parking and a 15 minute journey to Palma avoiding the stress of traffic queues. The train also goes from here to Soller an amazing day out.
There are two local supermarkets in Esporles which catered for all our needs and a number of unspoilt bars and restaurants in which to enjoy, a coffee, beer or dinner.
There is plenty of walking both short distance and for the more adventurous some good hiking in the hills (the long distance Mallorca path goes through Esporles)
Everyone in the party has said more than once since we have been back that we picked a great place to stay and I would have no hesitation in returning.
