Traditionele Gascogne stijl boerderij met 2 Gîtes bevestigd. De omgebouwde voormalige stallen en voormalig armagnac distilleerderij is geschikt voor maximaal 12 en 7. Zittend in een verhoogde ligging op het zuiden met uitzicht op de prachtige glooiende heuvels van het departement kennen als de Gers grenzend Lot-et-Garonne en Landes. La Platte en het zwembad is gevestigd in 2 hectors van park land backing op de regionale nationale park van de Gers. Markt steden van Gabarret, Eauze, Mezin en Condom liggen binnen handbereik. Genieten van lekker eten, goede wijn en Armagnac.
25% of the cost of the holiday is required at time of booking in order to secure the holiday. Final payment is payable 8 weeks prior to travel plus security deposit of €250, refunded at the end of the rental period. Payment in sterling is available. Très bel endroit calme et reposant, le silence est absolument fantastique ! Brume mystique le matin et lumière divine la journée ! Un décor très romantique ! Gite très confortable et parfaitement équipé, patio privatif et belle piscine qui doit être très agréable en été ! De nombreux sites à visiter aux alentours . Des hôtes charmants et très accueillants
We booked Al Hambra as a base for us whilst we were house hunting. We could not have chosen a better place.
Matthew and Gillian were perfect hosts and spent time sitting down with us offering us tips and advise on the local area. In-fact without their help, we would not have found our perfect house which we moved into in September.
The gite is perfectly kitted out and is extremely comfortable with a beautiful pool to laze around when the mood takes and a lovely terrace to have early evening drinks whilst watching the wildlife. We even had some friends fly out and join us so that they could make the most of the gite and setting whilst we were out and about house hunting.

The properties are clean and comfortable in a lovely setting and within easy travelling distance of some very pretty towns and villages. The pool is maintained to a high standard and provided welcome relief from the blazing sunshine during our stay. A car is essential to make the most of your time in the region.
Why then would I tick "no" to the question " would you recommend this property to your friends?"
Unfortunately, during our stay, the handle to the pool umbrella was broken by one of our party and whilst this is regrettable, it was certainly not through abuse of the equipment and accidents will happen. What I was not prepared for was the extremely aggressive manner in which I was spoken to by the owner when he ordered me to accompany him to the pool side to explain how the damage occurred.
On returning home, I queried the fact that the cost of a brand new umbrella had been deducted from our security deposit. I was able to provide photographs of the damage which very clearly indicated that there was rust in place around the winding mechanism. My query prompted a long e-mail detailing a number of "issues" that our party had caused throughout the week, these ranged from extremely petty to completely fabricated i.e glass bottles around the pool, water bombs, rubbish and lolly sticks in the pool and smoking in the gite. Whilst two of our party are smokers, they absolutely did not and would not smoke inside as our family group included two young children, there is no way that we would have compromised their safety in this way. We also cleared everything away at the end of each day throughout our stay.
The owners live in the distillery attached to the rental properties and are on- site for most of the time, following the incident with the umbrella they monitored our every move making it difficult for us to relax and enjoy the remainder of our holiday. In our experience, they seemed to have difficulty in differentiating between house guests and paying guests, the latter must be allowed to spend their holiday in the way they choose, as long as the properties are treated with respect. Surely, if you are advertising both properties together and are happy to accept the rental income that 19 people generates, you must also accept a certain level of disruption with a group of this size. There is a fine line between being attentive and intrusive, unfortunately, in our experience, the owners have yet to master the art.
Wonderful accommodation, old French buildings with all the modern conveniences. Better than described with all home comforts. Very clean. Well equipped both inside and out (loungers, comfy sofas, garden table and chairs for dining outside). Beautiful pool in a lovely garden setting. Short drive to restaurants, cafés and markets. River walk just few minutes down quiet road. Friendly and helpful owners gave advice on where to eat, what to see/ do. Will definitely return !
Nous avons passé un séjour agréable et reposant en famille. Nous avons en particulier apprécié la cour à l'arrière de la maison pour les repas en extérieur, ainsi que la piscine et le grand terrain de la propriété permettant aux petits comme aux grands de s'amuser. What a fantastic place, highly recommended, Matthew and Jillian are great, full of information on the local area, their homemade pizza is Scrummy, clean cottage with everything you need, lovely pool, would recommend this place to anyone.
