2nd Review and Appalled
We arrived with 3 children needing a sleep so put them to basement room. Unfortunately, there was an ant infestation happened overnight when the owner left (that is what owner said) they were crawling all over our grand children's beds, the floor, shower and whole area. My husband and I moved into a hotel for a night and gave our family our room upstairs (our cost not covered). The property manager said she would have area sprayed and set an traps, there was no way though our grandchildren could sleep down there while that went on. We decided to moved out! The agent said she could arrange a large taxi van because there was 9 of us, to let her know when ready. We tried calling and emailing because she said she would be there and she has not answered yet! We took 3 taxis again full cost was ours. The owner did say she would refund us but when we requested help with extra costs got upset with us, and then told me to contact VRBO to cancel. The owner did not feel it necessary to help with the extra costs we had so therefore we are substantially out of pocket, even meeting half way would shown some consideration.
The dishwasher is rusty inside. We had to change the gas on arrival. The front door jams and I could not close it when there in my own. Could not lock the back gate to keep the children safe - the pool was out that gate. Stairs to basement are dark and just concrete. The sofas are unusable with bits sticking out of them, or else we would have slept there instead of going to a hotel. The crockery and cutlery had dried food on them, linens are well used and needing replaced. Every room is very tired. We had to hire a car because could only get a place on edge of town. We lost 2 days of our precious holiday time. I was still being hounded by the owner telling me to remove my review before she would complete the refund!!
VRBO have said this kind of behaviour is not their policy and they will be following it up with her. They have in fact refunded me every penny. (Hoping it arrives soon).
The house is in a tired state. Mojacar, is on long strip like Blackpool and is extremely busy with Hen/Stag nights over the weekend. Teenagers are also brought in by buses to the resort over the weekend. Just depends on what you are looking for resort wise, my advice though, avoid this place! I have photo/video evidence over everything.
