Total privacy and tranquility
As a family of 4 (kids 10 & 7) we enjoyed 2 weeks of total privacy surrounded by the enormous natural (forest-) garden on a hill overlooking lake Bolsena, with local wildlife and a huge swimming pool. There is plenty to explore in the area, from ancient ruins to old cities and with lake Bolsena just 10 mins drive away, there is ample opportunity for swimming and very reasonably priced boat hire to enjoy. The area is not vastly spoilt and overrun with tourists giving it a very comfortable local feel. The owner is extremely hospitable, makes a delicious wine and resolved any (minor) issues without a problem. The house itself is large and comfortable and although the kitchen is a bit small and could do with a little TLC it is adequately equipped. The bed rooms and bath rooms are very nice, spacious and clean. The access to the sleeping quarters is through an outside staircase covered by the porch, so with small kids a baby-phone would be recommended. We would certainly recommend this property for a real Italian escape.
