Great first impression as the front desk were staff friendly as was the owner who accommodated our arrival time. The room met all our needs. The beds were comfortable , kitchen was good as the bathroom. Acccross the street is a Starbucks and a great grocery store with the freshest coissants. A few minutes walk down the road leads to a great selection of restaurants. The subway is close by too. The location to all the places a family could need is great.
My family enjoyed the experience at this place.
Great location, but small for family
Nice, clean, all the needed equipment in kitchen. Good bathroom. Great little space in fab area of London for two people, but for a family of four too small.
Potentially Dangerous Place To Stay!!!
DO NOT THINK that the photos on this website accurately reflect this apartment's TERRIBLE STATE: There are deep and multiple scratches on the floor, scratches on the walls, windows don't close properly, the caulking and sealing around the windows are in very poor condition (windows are extremely dirty), both the TV and internet doesn't work, there is damage to the door frames, toilet seat not secured properly, most importantly there are REMNANTS OF BLACK MOLD on the bathroom ceiling. Bathroom sink is blocked, the cover on the radiator by the window falls away from the wall, light bulbs are missing or just don't work. There's so much wrong with this apartment, to the extent that I don't believe it's safe, especially the black mold issue. To continue: The window frames in the living area, kitchen and bathroom are so dirty and decaying that paint is peeling off. The bathroom window handle is broken off, so it can't be opened - which probably accounts for the black mold on the ceiling. The shower also doesn't work properly - the shower head is close to breaking, and when in use hot water also comes out of the tap/faucet which if hot enough will burn your feet. ALL furniture/bedding is very old and looks like it's been purchased from a used furniture store for pennies (NOT the furniture shown in the photos). Air conditioning consists of one small 12-inch fan and opening windows, but be careful as this is a street-level apartment so people could climb in those windows if left open. Even one kitchen cabinet won’t open unless the other one is opened first. Believe me, I could go on… The only thing that works well - the flushing toilet.
The management company at Nell Gwynn House (where the apartment is located) said if I called the Health and Safety Department for the city of Chelsea, I would be doing them a huge favor – they’ve had many complaints before, but as this is a VRBO property, they can’t do anything. I contacted the apartment owner when we first arrived through the email provided on the back of the apartment door, then again via the VRBO site. She has not corresponded, it’s now been ten days since my first contacting her. I would like her to first explain why her photos misrepresent the apartment’s dangerous and shoddy conditions, and also why she thinks that staying in her apartment that’s dangerous to my children's health (and my whole family) is okay with her? I doubt if I’ll ever get the answers to these questions.
Thank you very much for your "review" and warning of the danger awaiting travelers in our property! You made no effort to communicate any discontent to us whilst you stayed in the property ( this is on file with VRBO and HomeAway ). We are not sure what is motivating you to leave a completely defamatory and incorrect review, but we suppose it is the fact that you stayed the whole length of your stay in our London property and then after returning to your home demanded a full refund, which we declined after being informed that this is a frequent occurrence, and action some travelers take in order to gain a free vacation stay ie demanding a full refund as otherwise they will leave a bad review - we have already informed VRBO and HomeAway about your "review". We are renting our property in arguable the best location in London ie Prime Chelsea, Sloane Avenue, in one of the most elegant and prestigious doorman building since now nearly 15 years, whilst 90% of our guests appreciate the unbeatable location and the cosiness of the property ( this is not a new built contemporary property btw ), once in a while we have " special " guest, who are the same guests that plant hairs in a 5 star hotel room or look thoroughly for any missed spot in a corner of the room in order to receive a discount or a free stay.
The TV and the Internet did not work, because you chose to switch off the socket. Some scratches on the floor have been cause by previous guests, ( we did not ask you to pay for these so we don't understand why you have a problem with this ).
We constantly encourage open and HONEST communication with our guests, as mentioned several time in the House Manual, something which you completely ignored - understandably because otherwise you could not threaten us with a bad " review " and try to receive a full refund! Again please if you stay at a property and would like to discuss imaginary issues, please do so immediately after your check in and not after staying the full length of your booking without any communication and then asking for a full refund after your return home!

This unit is not as represented in the photographs on the VRBO website. Upon opening the door we were greeted with an absolutely disgusting entry way. The baseboards were dirty and marked, the pneumatic arm to close the door, the door frame and the top of the door were covered in a very thick layer of black dust. The unit did not look “Anything” like the photos posted on the website. The walls were a dirty, dark brown color, the couch was grey, broken down and not in usable condition. The overall condition of the unit was grungy, outdated and far below a normal standard. The bedding on the bed was obviously very old and very inexpensive, indicative of something from a discount store from the 1970’s. The bed consisted of two mismatched mattresses placed on what appeared to be a homemade “box”. The plugged sink was never repaired nor the non working TV. The paint was badly chipped places, even the carpet under the table in the sitting area had been swapped out for an old, tired, grubby one, not as depicted in the photos. Mold on the bathroom ceiling had been painted over in an attempt to hide it. The toilet was not properly attached to the floor. Even when latched the windows would not close completely. We showed the unit to the hotel management when we inquired about moving, they were disgusted! They found us a room immediately. The cost of this room versus a hotel room which was clean, modern and beautiful was only $10 pounds per night more. The hotel has no control over the self owned rental units. This unit is far below any standard I've ever experienced. I would not let anyone stay there, even if I didn't like them!!
Do Not even consider staying here, stay in the hotel, it's awesome!! Numerous emails to the unit representative went unanswered and no effort to re mediate the problems took place.
Sir, Thank you very much for your comments. You are mentioning that the unit you had booked is not the same unit as you stayed in. We are very sorry for the confusion, we do not know in which unit you stayed as the building has nearly 600 properties, but it certainly does not sound like you have stayed in our property, which we are renting since more than 15 years in the building to hundreds of international guests and which is exactly the unit in the pictures of the listing. We have been in touch with HomeAway about this review as it it is wrong and misinformative and borders to slander. We do not understand what motivated you to leave a completely inaccurate review but as mentioned we have reported this already to HomeAway and VRBO. Thank you.
Il monolocale è in uno stabile molto bello e lussuoso, con una bella entrata e portieri molto gentili e disponibili. La zona è perfetta, sicura e con un Sainsbury Local e Starbucks proprio di fronte. Noi ci siamo spostati benissimo con gli autobus, a 5/10 minuti a piedi si raggiungono sia le fermate del bus che quelle della metro.
Il monolocale è molto piccolo, non adatto a parer nostro, per più di due adulti. Noi eravamo due adulti e due bambini e ce la siamo cavata.
Appartamento comunque consigliato, se torniamo a Londra torneremo qui.
Petit appart dans beau quartier
L’appartemet (studio) se trouve au rez-de-chaussée au fond d’un long couloir dans un grand immeuble, style hôtel, assez chic. C’est dans un beau quartier. Il y a une supérette sur le trottoir en face. Le seul hic est que la rénovation de l’appart est un peu sommaire. Les fenêtres donnant sur la rue ne ferment pas bien. Le lit de 2 personnes est assez confortable même si on sent que le matelas a du vécu. Quant au canapé convertible, il est moins confortable. Mais dans l’ensemble, c’était bien, surtout qu’on y a passé que 2 nuits.
