Perfect Summer Getaway!
Such a great condo and the perfect place to be for endless hiking and biking in the mountains. Solitude is such a peaceful place with so many great hikes to do in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The condo was clean and had everything we needed, including some fans that we ended up using on a couple of the warmer days up here. The owners made the check in and check out process easy and they very pleasant to work with! Would highly recommend this condo to future vacationers!
Peace and quiet in Solitude
Great place to relax and have downtime. The condo is nicely located with an easy walk to the lift and access to the pool/hot tub. Great for a family of 4 but 6 would probably be close quarters.
Condo was larger and more spacious than expected.
This was our first time skiing near solitude. We actually skied Brighton the entire time and the short drive to our condo in Solitude was so nice! Solitude resort in general is a pretty sleepy resort but there were plenty of nice amenities like free laundry, hot tubs, movie rental and club solitude offerings. The weekend s’mores out by the fire pit were wonderful for the kids. This condo is practically ski-in/ski-out if you’re skiing the Solitude resort. Free lockers for ski storage was also so helpful! Very enjoyable vacation with our two kids!
Great, clean condo that is truly ski in ski out!
Loved the condo! No complaints whatsoever. Process of checking into the condo was quick and painless when we arrived. The owner worked with us to allow us to check in earlier in the morning so that we could park our car in the condo lot and then ski for the day. Condo was clean, ski locker was very convenient, and access to Club Solitude was a godsend for the sauna and hot tubs after skiing. Would absolutely stay here again!
We recently stayed at this property for a long weekend. The condo was in great condition and very well stocked. It is in a great location - close to everything in the village. The owner gives you a very informative packet of details about the condo and your stay in Solitude. We hope to stay there again in the future.
Great location and accommodations at a premier ski location
Stayed at this property in January 2019. Mountain had experienced significant snow in the preceding week, 75 in base. Our first time here.
For ski and dining purposes, I don't think you can do better at this mountain. The condo building is centrally located steps away from where you can rent skis/get your lift ticket; as well as four restaurants/bars.
The condo was outfitted with quality cooking utensils, pots, mixing bowls, etc. Good supply of glassware and dishes. Given the supply/cost of food/liquor in the village (even at the store), consider bringing it with you (even if you get it from the 7-11 at the base of the Canyon). We brought dry goods in our luggage (tip, if you ask nicely, the pizza restaurant will sell you their pizza sauce, which makes a pretty good marinara).
Big dining table (seats 6), plus 3 seat bar for eating. Comfortable couches in the living area, and we used the patio to keep cool (it was 15 degrees outside) when we had our ski stuff on, but weren't ready to hit the mountain. Big comfy king bed, as well as a comfy bunk bed. Plenty of hooks and hangers to accommodate ski clothes and hot-tub bathing suits at the end of the day.
Ski locker on first floor was convenient, and the apres ski hot tub was a daily bonus. Access to the club provided evening entertainment of foosball, billiards, xbox and a quiet library to read (we could have used their pool/hot-tub and gym as well). On weekends they show movies in the theater.
The condo is less than a 5 min walk (in ski boots) to Solitude's Apex lift. We skied "home" for lunch every day. This allowed us to change gear, warm up, eat the prior evenings leftovers and get back on the mountain quickly.
Free laundry is a bonus (if motivated you can have clean clothes when you open your suitcase back home).
Check the elevator for bonus events for those staying on property. We got free s'mores at the fire pit one afternoon, and could have gotten early-bird lift access one day if we had our act together.
Two points which I will note (but not criticize, because they didn't bother me).
One, in many ski rentals I have seen requests for the property to have a slow cooker, I did not see one here.
Two, this condo is a unit almost at the "end" of the building, therefore away from the elevators. Depending on your preference to be near/far from the elevator, this may be a minor factor in your consideration.
