LET OP: De Jekyll Island State Park Authority is begonnen met het herstel van duinen voor het noordelijke deel van Jekyll Island. Als gevolg hiervan kan de toegang tot het strand beperkt zijn of gedurende bepaalde tijden niet bestaan. Er is nog steeds toegang via Driftwood Beach, dat grenst aan de eigenschap Villas By The Sea, net ten noorden, of slechts een paar minuten rijden met de auto naar het Great Dunes Park of Ocean View Park, opening zomer 2019. We verontschuldigen ons voor enig ongemak.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Villa 289 was beautifully decorated and very well equipped with kitchen and cleaning equipment . When we arrived the villa was very clean and the supplies provided by Jekyll Realty were very generous. The view in back was surprisingly nicer than expected from both floors with a grove of shade trees and ocean views ( nicest we’ve had in 19 years of ocean front at VBTS). The location is very convenient to the Bistro restaurant and VBTS Office. Jekyll Realty staff was always pleasant and responsive to requests, and as always the VBTS office staff was pleasant and helpful. We would highly recommend this property!

Awesome place

We loved our 4-night stay at the Villas by the Sea. The condo (#289) was well-furnished and perfect for our group of four (me and my 15-year-old son - we took the twin beds, and my daughter and 10 year old granddaughter slept in the king bed). Though there's a nice ocean view (especially from the master bedroom balcony), the beach is not accessible right out the door. For beach access, we drove to Ocean View Beach Park, which is a mile of so away, but that wasn't a problem. It's a very large park, with outdoor showers and plenty of parking, so it was fine. The restaurant on-site, Driftwood Bistro, has always been one of our favorites when visiting Jekyll, and this time, we loved that we stayed right there on the property. Just be aware that it's not open Sunday and Monday. The pool is large, clean and was a lot of fun for the kids (ages 10 and 15). I loved that the villas are an easy walk to Driftwood Beach, which is also one of my favorite places. The kitchen in the condo had all the dishes that we needed for a couple of meals eaten in, which saves money over having to eat out. It would be great if a few basics, (salt, pepper, cooking spray) were provided, because I didn't think to purchase those things. The only thing I'd change is that, while the beds themselves were very comfortable, the sheets were pilled up, making them feel like sandpaper. But if the owner buys new sheets (or I guess you could bring your own, if you have them), it'll be perfect.

June 2021 Stay

Place was clean and nicely decorated. Great place for our family of 4. The view is nicer than I expected. Construction was nearby but never bothered us. Pool at the Villas was great. I would recommend replacing the coffee maker. It worked but leaks out the top when brewing. Overall, we enjoyed this place more than other hotels on the island.

Great Time! Jekyll Island and Villa 289 were great!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a bit hesitant about booking our trip knowing nothing about the area. But we have had great luck with most vacation rentals. After booking I called to make sure we could get there late, I was assured all would be good, and it was. The people on the phone were very professional and when we got to the condo at about midnight they had left a number of lights on for us which was great. We woke in the morning to a beautiful sunrise and a very nice rental! Everything was just as it should be. Some addition info. The Driftwood Bistro is delicious as was everywhere we ate. The people are great. The shopping was just right. Not to much. Simple and relaxing...perfect. Jekyll Island did not let us down. The bathroom needs a bit of caulk and touch up but I only say that because it was the only bad thing I could come up with. Oh one more thing to watch out for was the gnats (no seeums) use spray when around the water at all. We got bit up enough to make it annoying...
