Onze ruime en goed ingerichte woning is gelegen in Playa Ocotal; met een wandeling van 2 minuten door prachtig aangelegde tuinen naar het afgelegen zachte zandstrand van onze kleine (40 huizen) resortgemeenschap van Bahia Pez Vela. Er is een restaurant op het terrein, een zwembad op twee niveaus en een bar aan het zwembad en andere strandactiviteiten aan het strand. Onze gated community heeft full-time (24/7) beveiliging, conciërgeservice op locatie, informeel restaurant aan het zwembad, privé-kok beschikbaar, volledige schoonmaakservice indien nodig, en onderhoud ter plaatse.

Wij zijn gelegen op 6 kilometer van Playa del Coco waar allerlei winkels zijn, vele restaurants, autoverhuurbedrijven en andere activiteiten. Dichtbij zijn er nationale parken, uitgaanscentra met, zip-lijnen, off-road excursies, sportvissen, wandelpaden en watervallen. Al deze activiteiten kunnen worden gepland en geboekt via de conciërge ter plaatse.

A month in paradise!

We spent a beautiful month at this property. The pools and beach are stunning. We enjoyed a few meals at Solana the restaurant on site. Staff everywhere on the property were amazing and helpful. The home is very well stocked for cooking your own meals. Beds are comfortable, living room furniture not so much. We really appreciated that the house provided Netflix for some evening entertainment. Would love to return! A rental car is almost a necessity if you are going off site for dining and shopping. The tours that can be booked through the office were great.

Lovely home base for a Costa Rican adventure!

Bahia Pez Vela is a lovely small community of homes that is very safe and beautifully landscaped. With an abundance of wildlife to see right there, you will feel comfortable here while enjoying the natural beauty of Costa Rica. A short walk to a very nice restaurant and a great kitchen here means you don't have to go far for a good meal. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were lovely and gave quick responses to any questions that I had. One downside is that the furniture in the family room is not comfortable or conducive for family time and the outdoor patio downstairs has no view. The best place in the house by far is the master bedroom with its small deck and an absolutely stunning view. When you are headed here be sure to stop at the store on your way in. There is no coffee, salt, pepper, or cooking oil so anything you need make plans to buy and make sure you get laundry detergent and toilet paper too. Having an onsite concierge is a huge bonus and makes planning your day trips easy and safe. Great help with COVID testing to get back home and the massages were amazing! We felt very comfortable here and I highly recommend the Bahia Pez Vela as a great home base when visiting Costa Rica!

A True Tropical Getaway

We loved our stay at Playa Ocotal in Costa Rica. The condo was well appointed, had a gourmet kitchen, super comfortable beds, and a gorgeous view of the ocean from the bedroom balcony (great place for morning coffee). The overall property was lushly landscaped with flowers blooming everywhere, and with several pools to enjoy. The secluded beach was soft black volcanic sand, and the ocean waters were warm and wonderful swimming. Very attentive staff made sure we had everything we needed, which included some great food served right on the beach. It was such a terrific get away, in a country that has loads of fascinating sites to see such as volcanoes and tropical forests with monkeys in the treetops. Loved it all!

Jus as expected and more

I truly loved that what was explained was what was experienced. The beach view is lovely, the pool was delightful. The house layout was great. The home owners had UNO, chess, and other games for us, they had a high chair, even snorkeling gear! I loved their clothe washer and dryer! The only bad thing about this property was that the knives were dull and the sharpening tool did not sharpen them well. That’s not good for us since we cooked a few meals. Another incident that happened was that for two nights the air conditioning brought the temp down to 65-68, and it took management a day and a half to finally turn off the unit. We did fine with the fans. I must say, they were very easy to get a hold of. I did write the the manager as well and did not get a reply which I was expecting. Those two items were the only negatives. The price was great however and we were very happy with our stay overall! We went to Conchal, Tamarindo, La Hermosa, Penca, Brasilito, Ocotal. All of them offered something special. Thank you for a great few days of beach and fun!

We have traveled all over the world and of all the places we have been, this is the one place we have decided to make our second home.

Bahia Pez Vela has all the amenities of a beach resort, but also has the feel of a small friendly neighborhood. It is close enough to many activities, but far enough away from crowds and noise to relax when we want to.
