In September 2014 we (family with 4 adults) stayed in La Limonaia apartments in wonderful Vicenza. The apartment had simple furnishing but all amenities that one would need for a vacation in northern Italy. It was very clean, and we loved the opportunity to have breakfast and dinner outside, overlooking the wonderful grounds in the early morning sun. The church bell of the nearby church announced the beginning of a new day at 7:30 – a very nice experience.
With a key card we got easy access to our apartment, and also to the gated parking space where we parked our car. The owners were very friendly and helpful; French and Italian are the best languages for communication. English was spotty – but email communication in English was no problem at all.
We did not make use of the offered breakfast from the apartments – although it did look very tempting - but went to the shop 100m away for fresh bread, cheese and milk. The pizza restaurant at 100m also was an added bonus when we came home tired in the evenings. The restaurant also offers take out. Neither did we make use of the swimming pool – but during warm summers we clearly see the attraction of such a pool at the back side of the complex.
Vicenze is ideally located for trips to Venice, Padua, Verona and even lake Garda. We had carefully selected this spot as it provided us easy access to all of the wonders of the region. It is a wonderful region for those who love some culture and the Italian way of living and food. When we would come again to this part of Italy we would certainly stay here again.
We had a great time at Villa Ghislanzoni. We stayed for one week in La Loggia. The appartment is not big but you have everything you need. Everything is new in the appartment and of great quality. La Loggia has a nice terras as well. It is nice that the pool is not so close to the appartments. Our childeren loved the pool. It is really big and situated beautifully. We made daytrips to Vicenza, Venice and we visited the opera in Verona. Over all we had a great time all thanks to our accomodation and it's owners and personal.
My family and I stayed in La Limonaia apartment for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The apartment is immaculate, yet cosy and the swimming pool was most enjoyable each evening after a days sight seeing. My young daughter enjoyed the swings and as family we enjoyed walking around the grounds. The Villa is located in a peaceful village with a useful shop and great pizzeria as well as being well connected to roads. A great place to stay and ideal for exploring the Veneto region,
We had the opportunity to stay in the Limonaia apartment for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. A fully equipped and very tastefully furnished, clean and well-maintained flat. Markets, shops and supermarkets accessible without problems. Across the road a very good pizzeria and take away.
Breakfast on a beautifully manicured lawn with a magnificent view of the villa and the gardens. Peace and quiet if one decides to have the day off on the property. Easy access to the highway if one decides to visit nearby Vicenza, Padua, Verona or Venice. A bus service next to the gate to get into Vicenza, if one prefers to leave the car at home. Palladian villa's galore in the vicinity and further afield.
Equally important and appreciated, the friendliness and helpfulness of the supporting staff, Franca and Ivan, even with our barely understandable Italian.
Highly recommended for those who are looking for a careless and quiet base from where to enjoy the cultural offerings of the Veneto.
- gute Pizzeria 100 m entfernt
- das dort angebotene Frühstück haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen, deswegen können wir darüber keine Aussage machen
FAZIT: idealer Standort für Ausflüge nach Vicenza, Verona, Vendig und auch an den Strand
For those who prefer to stay in a countryside while traveling the country I strongly recommend these apartments. The reasons are numeruous. The location is great – just 5 minutes drive from Vicenza and in a very calm and nice country surroundings. The villa itself is beautiful (built in a pure and harmonious Palladian style). All the apartments are tastfully decorated and very clean and cosy. My favorite room is Colombara. It's the smallest one but really charming. Breakfast is delicious (many thanks to Franca!) and if you are on a diet – you have to forget about it at least for these days :-). By the way - just on the opposite side of the street there is a small pizzeria Ca'Fosser. People are great there and pizza is really really good.
It was the second time we've stayed in Villa Ghislanzoni and we will surely come back there the next time.
Ci vediamo subito!
