The property was immaculate and had all the labour saving devises to make for an relaxing holiday. The owners were very friendly. The location was quiet and relaxing, not too far from the attractions that we wanted to visit. We enjoyed cycling around the country roads and canoeing on the local stream.
Lovely secluded setting, apartment converted and equipped to high standard, and friendly hosts.
The location, the property and the proprietors' welcome was everything that we hoped for and some more. We were three - two adults and a fourteen year-old with a love of sports and the outdoors. The standard within the gite was excellent and we could not fault it even of we tried. The location was rural, but close enough to Cognac town and others for our purposes - golf at Cognac, Saintes and (best of all) Royan; the latter being a fair drive (no pun intended), but worth it for the town and the best course we've played anywhere (yes, including Scotland!).
Then the woods and field surrounding the property, and the quiet country roads, were ideal for an early morning or late evening stroll.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property, which is enhanced by the ever genial hosts, Bob and Jane.
(Giving a secret away: we stayed the year before at a fine property in Monflinquin for a family wedding; the health and safety talk regarding the pool etc took over two hours of my brother-in-law's time - the rest if us having sloped off as we saw the way this was heading. Don't worry, you will not have to undergo that ordeal with Bob - and do try the tractor and cutting the grass while you are there).
