My husband and our 2 year old daughter stayed at Julia's apartment last August and had a wonderful base for touring Barcelona. Great and safe neighborhood, close to grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, playgrounds and public transportation. The apartment is on the 6th floor and we managed without issues with our toddler and her stroller and bags up and down each time - we definitely got our exercise done to offset all the paella we consumed during our stay!
The apartment is extremely well kept with all the amenities you may need to make quick meals, the bed was very comfortable as well as the sofa bed. The bedroom has no AC so it could be warm in the summer, the living room is the best choice to sleep in on a warm August night. WIFI was affordable.
Julia was very helpful and attentive to emails, the housekeeper was also friendly and accommodating.
The location was in a central location, just off the tourist paths, which was perfect for us. We wanted to "live like the locals" for a week. The surrounding restaurants were all unique and delicious. All landmarks were a 10-15 min. walk or taxi.
Cons: Many flights of stairs that wasn't a problem for us but I could see if someone with children/stroller would have trouble.
Me and 2 friends stayed here for the week of Sonar festival in Barcelona, so although we were out most of the time, the apartment was nice and the central location was perfect for getting around Barcelona. A local corner shop just across the road, surrounded by a variety of restaurants, you were able to hail a taxi from just outside the front door (although note getting a taxi is a nightmare on a Saturday night!) and you are only a couple of minutes walk from attractions such as The Sagrada Familia.
The booking process was straight forward and Julia responded well to emails.
It was clean and tidy, and it was pleasant to find a bottle of wine and sweets on arrival. Although it is a 1 bedroom apartment, with the sofa bed there was enough living space for all three of us (although I imagine 4 guests would be a bit of a squeeze). Some of the other reviews mention Julia's mother being around a lot, although we did not really see anyone else around the building, apart from when the representative first greeted us on arrival and when the other representative checked us out at the end - but this was ideal for three young girls just wanting to get on with their holiday.
The were only a few issues..The representative on arrival barely spoke any English which was quite difficult as we were just spoke at in Spanish about apartment details and she could not answer questions such as a number for a private taxi we could book for the journey back to the airport, or the best way to get to the beach. (Turns out the beach is about a 25 minute walk away which took longer as we got lost! It cost about 6-8 euros in a taxi which was not much split between the 3 of us and was a lot easier!)
The air con is not great. You don't really notice the difference when it is on and the 3 fans had to be on as well to make the apartment slightly cooler.
The apartment is up a fair few flights on stairs - getting our cases up was hard and going up and down does get a bit tedious.
The building is very old and can be a bit eerie, so I wouldn't recommend this as a place to stay by yourself!
Overall a good little apartment for those exploring Barcelona.
My husband and I enjoyed staying at the apartment we rented through your website. We especially liked the location.. walking distance away from some major attractions, close to the metro stations, had some great supermarkets nearby.
One thing we found unsettling is the level of noise coming from the street. With closed windows it was ok, but if we had wanted to keep the windows open it would have been very uncomfortable, especially during the night.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the apartment was clean and convenient. The fully equipped kitchen and the washing machine were a great thing for us!
Thank you for the services you provide!
We stayed at Julia's apartment for 14 days in May 2016.
Three things stand out in her apartment.
1) Great Location .... Right in the middle of the upscale Eixample neighborhood with easy walks to many tourist sites. Located on major street, quick access to subway, bus and taxi transportation. Wide and clean streets with many neighborhood parks. Very quiet at night. Numerous restaurants, bars, tapas joints, grocery stores within several blocks. Green market Conception is one block away with many butchers, bakers, fish mongers and fruit/vegetable stalls.
2). Many Conveniences....fully equipped kitchen with all home cooking tools and utensils. Had clothes washer and large refrigerator and plenty of storage space. Large shower with plenty of water pressure. Expansive windows throughout to let in evening cross breezes. A/C is available but wasn't needed. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well maintained with all all accessories and decorations new or recently installed. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Really felt like home.
3) Professionally Managed.....Julia made booking very stress free. Her emails were quick and very thoughtful and thorough. She even sent directions and pictures for the taxi driver. Once in the apartment, she and her Mom gave a very helpful details about the apartment and Barcelona as well. Upon checkout, Julia's representative was flexible and efficient reacting to our request for very early departure. Julia and her staff treated us like family.
We would highly recommend this apartment to all are confident that you will be pleased with your choice.
Me and my husband stayed in this apartment at the end of March, 2016. It was our first time in Barcelona (and in Spain for that matter). First of all we want to thank the owner Julia who made the whole booking process an easy and pleasant experience. She also provided us with many good advices on what to do, where to eat out, what to see in Barcelona, etc.
The apartment is very well decorated and nicely equipped. It is rather large comparing to other places we stayed at around the Europe. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is pretty spacious. The kitchen had all necessities and we made ourselves a nice breakfast every morning. There is a small supermarket couple of blocks down the Arago street where you can buy groceries.
The apartment is conveniently located in the heart of Eixample district, in a walking distance to Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, and plaza de Catalunya.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this apartment in Barcelona very much. We would highly recommend it.
