The best holiday EVER....
We loved Villa Akuna - it is a massive house with so many personal touches to make it like home, very good quality of everything. We did not want to leave. The water is crystal clear and the offer of complimentary stand up paddle boards and kayaks made it so much fun. We also had bikes and used them to go to the local villages. The local restaurants are great - honest simple food but very fresh. We had the cook come in a few times and the food matched our expectations - excellent. The household staff are so sweet and became like friends which made the stay even more like coming home. So don't expect to be treated like a number as you would in a hotel - you are welcomed like an old friend....
The pool heating was lovely especially after dinner, the swimming machine kept us fit too. Afterwards we loved the private terrace spa with a view and the sauna was used by most of us. Cool hanging chairs and the hammock for chilling out under the trees and that VIEW....oh gosh it was something else.
Having two kitchens really made it extra fun for us all on the nights we cooked, so spacious and I must say that it was so well equipped, maybe better than my own home.
The only negative was we had to leave and I even got teary when we drove away on the boat back to the airport (the Skipper is so funny and kind and we loved the way he cared for us during our day trips on the boat, we even saw dolphins)
We have already booked to come back next year for longer this time as one week is not long enough.
Thank you to the owner who gave us so many helpful tips. The house was worth every euro we paid to stay there as it was not just renting a house but a total experience. Thank you thank you thank you
