The villa was bigger than it appeared in the photographs and was very comfortable. Fans would be a good addition because the air con wasn't very effective but this didn't spoil the holiday. Lovely peaceful setting with great view of Etna but a car required for easy access. Plenty of good local restaurants and supermarkets. Driving very easy because the roads were almost deserted. The manager and his wife were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Etna excursion, Alcantara gorge, Taormina and Savoca well worth doing. Great for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Would definitely return. Villa would also benefit from a microwave, kettle and toaster but otherwise well enough equipped for me, my wife and daughter.
The pool area is beautiful with magnificent views all around particularly of Mt. Etna. Luciano and Antoinetta are lovely hosts and were so good and kind when they took Edith and I to the hospitals in Randazzo and Bronte much thanks to them for their help and care.
Other reviewers mention the road which is bad but we managed by driving slowly and carefully it seems to be a thoroughfare for hikers and horses. The pizzas provided by Luciano were delicious.
We booked the Villa Nocellara, which is next door to Villa Allori but no longer appears to be available on this website, effectively they are the same when looking at the pictures and there are on the same estate, operated by the same people.
After a pretty horrendous drive down a pot holed track which can take up to 5 minutes as it is necessary to drive so slowly, we arrived at the property. The directions provided were very good, with the Villa easy to find.
The Villa is located in vineyards and has a great view of Mount Etna. The swimming pool is opposite the villa, it is not heated but large enough to take a swim. There are chairs and umbrellas but unfortunately no fully reclining chairs or sun beds.
The Villa was well equipped, with clean, fresh bed linen and towels. A couple of items to highlight we did not have a bottle opener (this was quickly supplied) and the air conditioning didn't work.
When making our initial enquiry and after looking at the Resort website we were advised there were Mountain bikes, air-conditioning/heating, a Manager on site speaking English, plus additional services including private cook, tour guide, Italian classes, Cooking classes, housekeeping, Wine tasting, The Manager we met with is very nice but speaks no English and as we don't speak Italian, this made communication difficult and we could not ask questions regarding the local area or services advertised (none of these were offered during our stay).
We arrived after 7pm on a Sunday evening, it would have been nice if there had been a bottle of water in the fridge (maybe wine as it is on a vineyard?) and a basic food welcome pack (happy to pay for this). Instead it was necessary (now dark) to find the local town and something to eat ( we had to resort going to the local supermarket which was thankfully still open).
Due to the track to the Villa and narrow, winding roads it can take 20 minutes to the local Town (Randazzo), 1 1/4 to Catania and 45 minutes to Taormina. Randazzo has a number of very nice Cafes/Restaurants, Street Pizza served in the local square plus there is a market on Sunday mornings.
We did have a very nice stay at the Villa, the location makes for a very relaxing holiday.
the house is very nice decorated, good beds, swimming pool is very simple - needs some restyling. The road to the hous is really very bad, beware of your tires! In the middle of now where
The landlord is a very nice, helpfull man!!!!
We had a wonderful week in Villa Allori. It was very comfortable and clean. Alessandro was an excellent host. The highlight of our week was the trip to Mount Etna and the visit to Alessandro's friends shop to sample local products. The pool area needs a bit of work and better sun beds. The rural location was very quiet but suited us. The views of Mount Etna glowing at night from our terrace were spectacular and leaves us with fond memories
We arrived and were greeted by property manager extraordinaire Alessandro Fisauli. There was a problem with the small villa we rented (pictured below) so he upgraded us without hesitation. We stayed in a section of the largest villa on the property. The estate is set in the countryside, nested among vineyards, olive groves and orchards, yet only a 10 minute drive to Randazzo and 40 minutes from Taormina. Etna occasionally puffed smoke and provided an occasional rumble-quite a backdrop! The pool was delightful-a great spot for my morning coffee- and our son enjoyed it nearly every day.
Alessandro gave us a tour of the villa, both beautifully and artfully decorated and very comfortable. In the kitchen he had a selection of fresh fruit, wine and olive oil from the estate and a few other small necessities waiting for us. We had a lovely kitchen, with all we needed to prepare fabulous Sicilian food. Alessandro escorted us to Randazzo where we were shown the market, a speciality shop with every Sicilian delight imaginable, as well as the best green grocer in town. Alessandro assured us we would be well taken care of because we were his guests, and we were!
The estate has much to offer. We had excellent massages and a fascinating tour of Mount Etna personally guided by Alessandro. He reserved chairs and parking for us at the five star resort, La Plage, at breathtakingly beautiful Isola Bella. He also arranged for a Sicilian meal for the four of us. It was top notch. He was available whenever we needed him and made sure all our desires were met. We could not have had a more peaceful and memorable stay. Alessandro also an all around great guy!
