For full disclosure, we are the "semi-permanent" renters who were here at the time the previous reviewer was here. We had a gap from when our home in Georgetown sold until we move out of state in December. I am unsure why that is an issue as there could have been short-term renters here at the same time. We saw them once during their stay. This home has two rental areas- the garage apartment and the main house. It is set up with lockouts for each side so both sides are secure from each other. This home is in a very convenient location and is lovely. The owners are most hospitable and handle any issues very efficiently. As an aside, we have had only one small maintenance issue. I suspect if the previous reviewer had alerted the owners of their issues, they would have been handled. As for the pool being unusable, I am uncertain what they mean. I see the owner outside almost daily blowing leaves off the driveway and patio as well as vacuuming the pool. It was November and that is not usually swimming weather here in Georgetown. Perhaps they meant it was too cold. The pool is kept clean. The inside of the home is cleaned by a professional housekeeping company before each guest stay or weekly if the owners are here. We have seen them going in and out so that is how I know. Finally, we have not noticed airplane noise to be an issue at all. My teenage son flies in and out of Georgetown airport often and pays attention to that sort of thing. We cannot recall hearing any airplane noise at all.
Upon arrival we learned that there are semi-permanent renters in the garage apartment - we weren't happy to learn this upon arrival as opposed to absolutely any time before that. We also quickly discovered that the house is directly under the approach path for the small Georgetown airport. The downside with small planes is that they are very noisy - twin engine planes landing as late as 11PM provided comic relief. It was so loud that we just had to laugh! There is a large living area with lots of natural light looking out at the unusable pool and patio. There is room to entertain and a well equipped kitchen, however, the ice maker was broken and two of the stove burner knobs are not working. The grill in the back wasn't usable and the patio did not feature comfortable seating. The caddy in the master shower was so dirty and covered with black mold that I opted to use a shower on the other side of the house. Also, the house is 30+ years old and the master shower was constructed with a 7' ceiling. I am 6'1' tall and found this space very claustrophobic. The carpet in the master was damp, presumably from a recent shampoo, but it caused an unpleasant odor during the visit. There is so much christian material all over the house that it is enough to make anyone with a secular orientation uncomfortable. Plaques and crosses on the wall would be cool, but both the master bedroom night tables featured tall stacks of christian reading material. Yuck. Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom to impose your views on everyone else. It's their house to be sure.....but stacks of bibles by the bed were just too much for us. One of the bedrooms also featured a chalk board, on which a christian bible passage had been hand written. Prosthelytizing to unsuspecting vacationers is just rude and disrespectful, and has never happened to me before in 18 years of renting homes. Weird. Perhaps they should advertise this house a christian venue.
We had a large party of six adults and five kids stay in this home for a long weekend in July. We were in town to attend a wedding and wanted to stay in a house with a pool versus a hotel so we could have an easy way for all of us to gather and be together and relax when we weren't attending wedding related events. The home is large with plenty of bedrooms and bed space and the outdoor area with the pool and adjacent to the golf course is really quite nice.
The hosts were lovely and had some special extra touches they included with the rental including water bottles in the fridge for us and coffee available for the mornings.
This was a fabulous property which was stocked with everything you could want including beach towels, spices, and every pot or pan you could think of.
We really enjoyed the pool as well as fixing meals. Lots of room for our party of 9 adults.
Sarah is a wonderful hostess and was as close as a phone call away and very responsive. We had a great time in a truly wonderful property.
Had a large family reunion and needed a nice place to stay with a pool. This was a great choice and beautiful house throughout. Nice pool with plenty of outdoor sitting areas for family and friends. On the golf course so nice views there as well.
Met the owner and she and her family were very nice and accommodating, leaving us with information on how to operate things around the house. I would highly recommend anyone staying here and enjoying this beautiful house.
The home is in a very nice neighborhood within a nice subdivision. It is a great location for exploring Georgetown and surrounding areas. The kitchen is large with lots of counter space. Our group of 10 older women did have some issues such as no soap, shower gel or Kleenex in any of the bathrooms. There were no hand towels in the baths off the bedrooms, only one wash cloth per bathroom and inadequate numbers of bath towels for 10 people. Sarah did purchase soap & Kleenex on our 2nd day of the stay. The controls for the shower in the master bath would not work even though a plumber came to check them, as well as the hot water control in one sink & the cold water control in the 2nd sink. Small hair dryers would have been nice since most people do not travel to over night accommodations with one. The family lives in this home & thus there was very limited space for hanging garments in the closets. Some furniture in the large family was in need of repair & somewhat unstable.
All in all we had a nice stay and think a family group would enjoy the outdoor venue with pool and cooking area during the summer. There is a golf course in the subdivision as well as 3 courses in Sun City, just minutes away.
