Fantastic location in Kew
We just returned from our stay. Family of 4 with a 12 and 14-year-old.
The apartment was ideally located to the Kew Underground train (to London), Kew Gardens & Green and an easy bus ride into Richmond. The stop is just down from the apartment. Kew Retail Park (TK Maxx, Marks & Spencer, etc) is literally behind the property if you cut through a neighboring side street.
We arrived very late (11:30pm) but Lorinka, the property manager, met us the next morning and showed us around. She gave us a pass for Kew Gardens (and we added our 2 kids to the pass) and told us certain things to see in Kew and Richmond. She was always reachable if we had any questions. She provided a great list of local shops, restaurants, items to see. The bedrooms (queen beds in each) are comfortable and Lorinka gave us a fan to use (helped bc it was very hot during our stay). The kitchen is very well equipped (we didn't use it bc we ate every meal out), nice fridge and freezer, dishwasher and laundry in the front bedroom closet. Showers were nice and plenty of hot water. 1 Walk-in shower and a full tub shower set in the room next door. Comfortable living and dining room with large windows that we kept open when we were in residence, TV with links to Netflix, etc. Through a set of french doors, you access a nice private garden with a grill and a large outdoor dining table. Kew is in the flight path for Heathrow but after while you don't even hear the planes. The street is very busy but calms down at night. We felt very safe staying there and met a few of the other residents during our stay. It is a house--our apartment was on the entire ground level with the garden. Upstairs there are 2 other apartments and then another on the 3rd level. They do not have access to the garden.
We went to London every day but 1 of our 9-day visit. We spent 1 day in Hampton Court and neighboring village (must see) and 1 day in Kew Gardens and took a bus downtown Richmond for dinner. Depending on your stop, it takes about 45-60 minutes to get into London from Kew. The District line is very nice, has air-con (great bc it was 97 degrees during our stay) and offers a lovely above ground view on your way into London. It is super easy to switch to other lines from the District line. Kew is an idyllic town with lots of cute shops and restaurants near the train station. This apartment is great for families and for those working/visiting the National Archives (just down the road).
A great visit!
Nice spot in Kew
We had a lovely stay in this 2 bedroom flat with my wife and three children. Walking distance to Kew Village and Kew Gardens. 5 minutes Tube to Richmond and only 25 minutes Tube into central London. Very enjoyable visit and it’s a lovely flat.
This is our second consecutive year of enjoying a four week stay at this property. We arrived early, yet were welcomed and moved in after our long flight from USA. This first floor flat is quiet, despite having additional flats on second and third floor. Our upstairs neighbors were friendly and we entertained one of them for an evening. The garden is a great feature: includes a grill, table and chairs plus option of feeding the numerous green parrots. Research at the National Archives (England's Record Office) is just a 5 minute walk. Tube station is only a few minutes from front door. Already planning our next stay!
We stayed four weeks and enjoyed cooking and grilling. Very comfortable accommodations. Suzie's hospitality exceeded our expectations. Location is just two blocks to the tube station and only an 8 minute walk to The National Archives in Kew. The tube ride into London proper is simple, inexpensive, and fast. We learned how to ride the trains in just a few days. We plan to return. Each morning three parrots appear in the backyard and eat at the bird feeder, great entertainment.
Thank you for the kind words. I would love to welcome you back anytime!
Great location can get to the tube easily
We had never been in this area it was a lovely safe neighborhood. We were able to and come on the tube. The kitchen was well stocked and a great outdoor space. Would love to go again the hosts were delightful as we were able to meet them.
Couldn't wish for better
Myself and my 2 teenage daughters stayed here for a week on the last leg of a trip to Europe recently. We absolutely couldn't have wished for a more comfortable, homely and restful place to stay. Suzie is the perfect host and everything in the house is catered to make your stay comfortable.
It is very close to the train station and we were able to explore all that London has to offer, and then retreat into our own haven at the end of each day. There is so much room to spread out and relax. The beds were extremely comfortable, the neighbourhood is so safe and one really feels like you're living like a Londoner. My daughters also adored the friendly cats who visited on occassion!
We now have the perfect place to come back to on our next trip to London. Thanks Suzie for a memorable stay!
It was a real pleasure to meet you and your girls. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay and that I could play a part in making it memorable for you.
All of London!
