We arrived and everything was as listed in the description. I don't understand the comments about "smoke smell," because we definitely did not have that experience. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of linens, and the view was SPECTACULAR! The unit was extremely clean and quite spacious. The owner was super responsive to all of our requests and questions. We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful location and condo!
Condo is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. View from the lanai is wonderful, as is the beach location. We have no complaints and are looking forward to renting here again.

Big disappointment. Not very clean. Upon entering, we removed our shoes, and we could feel the dirt and sand from the floor on our feet. Broken slider locks, mildew shower curtains, and sand on the tables and furniture. In addition, the unit smelled awful. There had been a substantial amount of smoking done in the unit. All the furniture, towels, beds, pillows, etc. smelled like smoke. Later, when looking for dishwasher detergent, we found a pile of ashtrays under the sink in a plastic bin. The front office told us visitors are not allowed to smoke, but owners are allowed. Mystery solved. The owner told me later that a visitor must have violated the policy. Sure, I guess that the "visitor" must have purchased several ash trays and the plastic bin to store them in for future visits. The pool was under construction while we were there. Normally that would not have been as big of a deal, except a horrible red tide made it impossible to be down by the ocean. The dead fish made the beach smell awful. We were unable to go down on the beach, and the inability to use the pool was very frustrating. It is not the fault of the owners that the red tide showed up, but not having a pool available was frustrating. The owners were told about all construction way before our arrival. In addition, there was construction on the railings, starting at 7am or earlier every morning. We woke up to the noise every day. By the 5th day the smell of the dead fish accumulating on the beach was unbearable - even all the way into town. We stuck it out another couple days. Red tide had been going on since last Oct. Our rental was for 2 wks and we were going to be stuck there for another wk. I called the owner in the morning and asked if we could get a refund for the next wk due to the red tide situation. The asthma situation with one of our family members was making it very hard to be there. He said he didn't see a problem. He would check with his wife and let me know if there was problem. We waited until that evening. When we didn't hear anything back, we assumed there was no problem. Our beach front vacation was over and we spent an additional $1500 for another hotel in Tampa. A couple wks after we got back, we had seen no refund. I called the owner. He told me he never told me we'd get a refund - only that he'd check with his wife. After arguing about what was said, he refunded 1/3 only. We lost a lot of $. Red tide wasn't the owners fault, but the rest of the problems were.
You requested a refund due to weather conditions! That's an unreasonable request on your part, no resort or airlines or any vacation agency would ever honor that. I was still very accommodating and gave you a refund, which I did not have to do at all!
Your complaints started after I mentioned that I will only refund a partial amount and not what you requested. It's very clear in the contract, that if there's anything wrong with the unit to notify us immediately so we can take of it, certainly not after you've been there already for 10 days.
I stayed at the condo for 2 weeks AFTER you left. There was no smoke smell anywhere. I'm a non smoker so I would've noticed, as well it's a non-smoking unit. The shower curtains have no mildew whatsoever, as they were replaced recently. This is a beach front unit so if the unit had sand in it, I would've send housekeepers back immediately, but you only mentioned this 10 days later. The building, like any other resort, has certain maintenance that has to be done. The pool was not available for a few hours to fix the fence around it.
I hope next time you have a better experience.

Siesta Key Stay
During our discussion prior to the rental of this unit, we were led by the owner to believe that this unit was in superb condition. Shortly after looking at the condition of the unit we concluded that we had been misled by the owner. Specifically, both bath tubs were significantly damaged. One of them was obviously chipping paint in many portions of the tub. There was a hint of smoke smell in the unit even though the owner states no smoking allowed. The odor in the condo confirmed that smoking had taken place in this unit. The floor of the unit was extremely dirty. Once we walked around the unit a few times we noticed that our feet were stained with a subtle gray tint.
When we sent an email to the owner about some of the issues there was no response. Our investigation revealed that we had paid more than the customary fee for a similar condo. Lastly, we were not informed by the owner that was a significant construction project taking place on the entire building during our stay. Hammers and drills were blaring 6 days a week while renters were on the beach. Dust was everywhere. Others renters at this Site were afforded a 25% refund for this inconvenience while we were left high and dry. All in all, we were disappointed with our stay in Siesta Key.
Hi Lucia, we are sorry about your experience, but we've consistently had great reviews because our unit is very well maintained and stocked with everything that our guests would need. We're always making sure that our guests are comfortable, and we're constantly updating the condo . We always hope that guests will honor the non-smoking policy, so hopefully that won't happen in the future.
