We have been renting this house for a few years now. Beautiful home location is right next to the beach. The house come with everything. You walk in and feel like home. The only thing is the noise from the hotel across the street. The hotel has their valet right across the street and the constant car moving and back up is crazy.
5 star accomdations
As the title says it is 50 steps from the beach. Everything inside is what you would expect from a 5-star hotel but this is a house!!. It doesn't look like much from the outside, just a typical Pismo Beach home, but when you get inside you notice the attention to detail, the comfortable beds, nice furniture and all for less that it costs to stay across the street at the new Vespera hotel. It is a lovely place and we had a wonderful time!
Construction trumps location
I really wanted to give this place 5 star rating but I just can’t. Location can’t be beat. I searched and to have a HOUSE this close to everything w/o being on a main road and with a view and great patio area to enjoy the view was great for relaxing. BUT there was construction going on directly across the street our entire stay. It’s not a vacation if we’re still waking up at 6am every morning. Plus the construction workers used the retaining wall on the patio area as their own picnic area. If there weren’t 3-4 guys having their lunch or just hanging there, then they left their soda cans, chip wrappers, containers etc. We couldn’t even use the patio area. We did barbecue one day but ate inside because I didn’t want to share my space with strange men. My kids wanted to sit out front and hang out but I didn’t allow it because of the workers hanging around and I have a preteen daughter. From the living room window they could see us so you’d think they’d not hang out there. They didn’t care that we were there. They behaved as though that was their space. It was just sooo uncomfortable. Also the view from inside is not like the photos anymore. Now you have a partial view (when there aren’t large construction trucks blocking it) the other part of the view is the row of port of potty’s. Other than the proximity to downtown and the beach (which gets an A+) and the comfort of the inside of the house this was NOT a vacation. It was stressful. This was way too much to pay for what we got. Maybe at a different time but not w/the construction. Also the house was a little stuffy smelling at first. We opened the windows but then we couldn’t hear the television from the construction noise. Very disappointed.
I am very sorry about your experience at our home during your stay in June. I definitely don't like hearing that Marriott workman were sitting on our retaining wall, leaving garbage and working outside of legal hours. It is a great spot, but only for our guests to use. This project was to be competed in April, but for whatever reason it wasn't. Marriott website now says August '19. https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sbpak-vespera-on-ocean-autograph-collection/
The inside of the house was completely painted a week prior to your stay. I wonder if that is the stuffy smell.
This is our 2nd stay at this house in Pismo Beach because everything is 100% as described on the website! Everyone has their own space and the proximity to downtown and the beach could not be better. The kitchen is well-stocked w/anything you could possibly need (bring your own food, of course), the bath towels are huge and the beds are soooo comfortable!
