The views from this secluded home about 2 miles north of Patagonia at the end of a private road are fantastic. The home is very well constructed, tastefully furnished and well cared for. We enjoyed the walking right out of the house and found many other nearby hiking opportunities. The onsite manager made check in easy and was very helpful and always available.
A 5 star place!!
Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you visit again soon.
Best view in Arizona
We stayed for almost 3 weeks and had a wonderful time. Patagonia is a really great home base for an extended trip to this area. We did 4 or 5 day trips into Tucson and got our fill of Tucson. Glad we chose this area instead of staying in Tucson or any of the other towns we visited. Patagonia is a treasure.
The house is as others have said. It’s a high end home and is very comfortable. My favorite parts were the seclusion from town and the views from the front porch. Your closest neighbor is probably a mile away yet you’re only 2 miles into town, an easy drive down a dirt road.
The owner was great to work with in answering all of my wife’s questions before we booked and the property manager only lives about a mile away, should you need any help while you are there.
No reason to hesitate on booking this one. We will be back.
Thanks John, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and Patagonia. Your wife took some great photos of the house and I’ve added them to the VRBO website. I hope to welcome you back soon.
This is an incredible property, the location is remote , quite and peaceful. The house is obviously built by true craftsman and nothing has been spared in unique appliances , showers and sinks. I highly recommend this property as the owner is very easy to work with and is very easy to communicate with. We had one small request and it was immediately handled within three hours, that’s amazing. This is our second visit to this property and I’ll go again, both times I was there I couldn’t help looking at the effort put into building this house . The doors , windows , trim, tile , cabinets , water system , oven , dishwasher, furniture are all expertly installed and in perfect working order with no expense spared. Thanks again for the opportunity!
Secluded birding paradise!
From beginning to end our stay was excellent. Brian has built a lovely home. If quiet seclusion is what you seek, this is an excellent choice. We love seeing wildlife and were not disappointed. In six days we identified 51 different species of birds from the house and within a short walking distance.
Another trip here is already being planned. Thank you!
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I look forward to hosting you again soon.
Beautiful House and very special location
We very much enjoyed are stay. The owner and caretaker were very accommodating and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our visit. The house layout is very comfortable with all the amenities that one could expect. The view was incredible. Patagonia is a very cute town with unexpected food available.
House was nice, beware the creepy security cameras.
We rented this house for a month this year. It is a nice house with a beautiful view. Some deferred maintenance issues are being taken care of and Cindy, the manager was very helpful and conscientious.
What really made us uncomfortable were two security cameras, one aimed at the window through the front door into the main living area and one camera focused on the window in the exterior door into the master bedroom. As far as we could tell, both cameras were able to see inside the house, especially at night. There were no cameras focused on the driveway or the back of the house, both logical places to place them for security.
When we offered to turn the cameras off when we were home and turn them on when we left, the owner referenced the "house rules" and threatened to evict us with no refund. VRBO said this was perfectly legal and we had no recourse. We would not stay here again. Be advised.
Allow me to address your concerns regarding the cameras, as you stated in your review.
Firstly, the security cameras are framed for the front and side entrance, focused only on the doors. As you may have noticed, the windows are heavily tinted and insulated and you cannot see inside the house during the day, with or without a camera. The photos I provided to you confirm that. The cameras are passive infrared cameras. Even if they were pointed to the windows, which they are not, passive infrared is not reliably efficient enough to detect motion through heavily tinted and insulated glass, let alone distinguishing features.
Secondly, what you believe to be a camera pointed at the living room is actually a motion sensor LED outdoor light. It has no camera in it. A photo of the actual light was also provided to you.
Your supposition that the cameras can "see" indoors is patently false. There are NO cameras located in or focused on the interior of the home.
As I explained to you in previous correspondence, the cameras are there for the protection of my guests and my property. The rental agreement and the house rules clearly state that the cameras are not to be turned off. I referred this fact to you when you inquired about turning them off; to imply that I "threatened" you with eviction is a gross mischaracterization of the facts and is defamatory. Not disabling the cameras is a condition of occupancy; eviction is a consequence of disabling them, not a threat.
Your decision not to stay at my home is your right. My decision to protect my guests and property is my right, and under the Arizona Lodging and Innkeepers regulations, I have the right to use security cameras to achieve that. When you stay at a an hotel, inn, lodge or commercial rental property, you do not have the right to disable their security apparatus; the same reasonable standard applies at a rental home.
Cynthia and I work very hard to accommodate my guests and give them appropriate levels of security and privacy. No reasonable request is refused and I have a well-deserved reputation for putting my guests needs first and providing them with everything they need to enjoy their stay.
