This is the perfect place to spend time with family or friends while exploring way downeast Maine. Jonesport is a beautiful example of what unspoiled coastal Maine looks like. The majority of the locals make their living by “farming” the sea or supporting those that do. This house has a gourmet class kitchen area that we used to prepare the great seafood that is available from the folks that harvest it!! Lobster from the local co ops, Mussels from Maine Mussel Co who supplies Whole Foods with their mussels. Atlantic Shellfish for locally harvested steamer clams. Indian River Crab meat for freshly picked crab. If your lucky enough to be there in mid August you can also enjoy locally harvested low bush blueberries. There are all sorts of places to explore within an hour drive from the house but there is plenty to do right in the little town

Lovely stay with our family in this unique house in Maine. The location is beautiful, and the time of year (August) was a great time to visit. The managers were very helpful and quick to respond, which is always great with a rental. We spent a lot of time at the Sandy Beach up the road about 10 minutes, which is perfect with kids. We also travelled to Jasper Beach, Lubec, Machias. We did the hike at Great Wass Island, which was fun (we couldn't complete the whole thing with the kids, but got to the ocean and then hiked back). And then it was a treat to eat at Bayview takeout (fried pickles and ice cream sundaes!) after all that hard work! Fresh lobsters at the dock were also a treat, and we ate all our meals at the house. Lots and lots of blueberries during this season too! Great visit, thank you so much!

The owner was friendly and accomadating, as was the property manager John. Beautiful vista right outside your windows, sea glass collecting made easy, and cheap, fresh lobster. Perfect. Thank you Rodney and John. And the warm generous people in Jonesport.

We LOVED our stay in this house! What a beautiful home and location. My favorite rooms were the master bedroom and kitchen-great views of the water. So pleasant to read on that chaise in the bedroom. We also loved eating our meals and playing cards at the kitchen table while watching the water. My children enjoyed walking the beach at low tide to collect sea glass and spent an entire day using the kayaks. We did cook a few meals in the kitchen including lobster from the co-op and had everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen. Our favorite outing while we were there was our drive up to see the Quoddy point lighthouse in Lubic. Gorgeous views of the coastline there. Definitely worth the daytrip! As it’s hard to tell from the picture, the house is close to the road and there is quite a bit of early morning traffic from the lobstermen, otherwise quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfy, plenty of hot water for showers and owners and caretakers were quick to respond if needed. As someone who sunburns easily, I would have liked to have one of those swings with an umbrella outside to sit on as it’s very sunny where the Adirondack chairs are with no shade. But we really enjoyed sitting out by the water watching the boats and the kids swimming. We also recommend the food truck next door-yummy breakfast sandwiches and baked goods! We have many happy memories of our vacation. Thank you so very much for sharing your house with us!!
