Huis Windham

This house is in a great location and the view from the deck was outstanding. If we were here in warmer weather it would have been nice to go out on the water in the peddle boat or kayaks. There was just two of us and we did enjoy coffee in the morning on the deck.

The house itself needs some attention. The inside is pretty basic for most needs. I felt that the house could use a little sprucing up with decorations. The house was not as clean as I would expect. I always take my shoes off in the house. My socks were dirty after walking around inside the house. An old used bar of soap was left in the shower. For the cleaning fee paid I would have expected it to be a lot cleaner.

You must go down uneven concrete steps to reach the front door. There are no hand rails. But there is a motion detection light for after dark. The railing on the lower deck below was being held together by a bungee cord. If you have small kids this would be a huge safety issue.

My biggest complaint is the bed in the master bedroom. The mattress was extremely soft. At the end of our stay when I stripped the bedding I found that the bed did not have a mattress cover and the top of the mattress was stained. It was gross and should be replaced.

The off street parking could also use more reflectors to mark where the parking area drops off.
