Dit mooie een slaapkamer vierde verdieping appartement met lift en biedt lichte en ruime accommodatie met een grote open keuken / ontvangstruimte met een uitstekende woon-en onderhoudend ruimte.
Ingericht naar een hoge standaard.
Een kingsize bed in de slaapkamer en een opvouwbare Z-bed in de woonkamer aan een andere persoon.
Birchgrove House is rustig gelegen in Kew Riverside Park, grenzend aan de rivier de Theems, en een korte wandeling van Kew Retail Park. Kew Gardens ligt op ongeveer een halve mijl afstand en Kew Bridge op het noorden van Londen mainline is ongeveer 1 mijl.
Volledige vlakke en on-fitnessruimte is beschikbaar voor gebruik door alle bezoekers.

Perfect location - the Thames River walk was totally muddy but eh, that's winter ! - green everywhere and a fox or two roaming the parking grounds at night.
Enjoyed the kitchen though I did not cook much (M&S is so close with so many prepared meals) but I noticed that there's a baking tray now ! Made great use of the ice trays as well! Dishwasher and cloth washer-dryer were also put to very good use.
As many, it took me a little time to figure out the heating system, but once managed, the flat was very very enjoyable.
Now to find a few points for improvements:
* took me a while to explore the building and find the refuse store. A small sign in the appartment saying the refuse store is on the side of the elevator and has recycling bins for everything would be great.
* Yep the bed is still not very confortable
* used the vacuum cleaner several times during my 3 week stay and found it quite weak (then again it's not something you use for a short stay)
Actually difficult to criticize, as it seems the friendly owner followed most of the suggestions that were made before to better the appartment. Would definitely rent this place again on my next long trip.
The flat was easy to locate, the Conciege very helpful, the flat was roomy and very comfortable. Slight problem with hot water, but soon sorted with owner. We stayed 3 nights and we were able to travel around easily on public transport. The location of Birchgrove House being next to the Thames and Kew Gardens was just lovely. I would recommend this property to Family and Friends travelling from Australia to stay here. Thank you, Debra

I stayed 12 nights and found the flat to be in the perfect location. It's on a quiet cul de sac. Within walking distance are: 3 min. to R68 bus to Richmond and Hampton Court Palace, 5 min. to shopping centre -- Boots, M&S w/well-stocked food hall, 5 min. to National Archives, 10 min. to Kew Gardens tube station, 15 min. to Kew Botanical Gardens. A 10 min. R68 bus to Richmond station for direct trains to Waterloo. For those with a car, there is a secure corner parking space that's also visible from the flat. There's the Thames River Walk, accessed from the path behind the flats. A short walk (to the left) will take you to the Kew Green with cafes and pubs along the river.
The flat itself was nicely laid out with lots of room. The kitchen was very modern with cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and dual sinks with disposal. There's also an all-in-one washer/dryer. The kitchenware itself is rather basic - 4 cups, 4 spoons, 4 plates, etc. as well as a few pots and pans. A baking tray would be a nice addition. The refrigerator and freezer below were more than adequate, though I did purchase a few ice trays.
The bathroom is of excellent quality. Clean and modern, it has very good water pressure and ample hot water. Lots of counter space and good lighting. The heated towel rack would be wonderful in winter.
The bedroom is of good size for 2 people. Closet has an assortment of department store hangers, but ample room with a 3 drawer chest. The only complaint is the bed -- the mattress was horribly uncomfortable with indents, hollows and springs poking through. I tried to flip it over, but the other side was just as worn. Time to replace this, please!
A note for US guests -- a King sized bed in the UK is 59 x 79, which is just a few inches shy of a US Queen sized bed. The Z-bed, a folding cot, is 9" narrower than a regular Twin bed, and not suitable for a large adult.
There was a heat wave during my stay, making the flat quite hot. I purchased a pedestal fan, and left it behind for future guests. Though the flat was very quiet for 80% of the time, some days had planes taking off overhead and were quite noisy. I didn't mind this, but it may be an issue for some.
Ajay was very easy to communicate with and always replied promptly. He uses PayPal for the deposit, and though he refunded within days of departure, PayPal took 10 days to credit my account. All in all, a good stay and would happily stay again - with a new mattress!
Friendly modern appartment in a friendly property, with almost all needed facilities. Owner available and answering quickly.
The only issue was during the weekend, when obviously the plane route is just passing over the zone. This generates a quasi constant noise from early morning to late evening (fortunately not during the night).
The location of this flat - in one of the nicest parts of greater London - is perfect for someone who wants to enjoy walks and runs along the river or visit Kew Gardens and Richmond park (a must), while having easy access to the overground train and the frequent and fast tube trains to central London or big railway junctions. Kew Gardens tube station is 10 min away on foot and the bus (towards Hampton Court) to Richmond is just around the corner - communications are excellent and reliable! Location, facilities and good communications all make this property very good value for money. The flat itself is spacious with all the mod cons you need (including a big TV screen, perfect for sports and films), though perhaps a bread board and chopping board could be added. Foreign guests who aren't used to the British water and central heating system may need a little extra guidance: a quick description as to how all the switches work would be good. All the manuals to the appliance are available in a folder. There are great shopping facilites (M&S, Boots, nice clothes' shops) only 3-5 minutes away on foot. The concierge was very nice and helpful. The building and neighborhood was very quiet. Needless to say, we had a very pleasant stay, and would definitely like come back to this flat.
