Kömmäkköniemi is the name of the place to relax in our holidays. We are located in Northern Savo, right at the lake shore of Saarinen. It is a very peaceful lake with lots of fishes. Rowing boat, the fish traps and fishing rods are at your free disposal. Forests to pick up berries are around the house. In autumn you can also go looking for mushrooms. There is a path around the lake for a walk or jogging.

You can drive with your car right in front of the house on the road.

In the log cabin there is a spacy living room with an huge stone oven. Here you can bake some bread or prepare food. The oven is simultanously the heating for the whole house. In the living room there are 2 couches to be made as a bed, each for 2 persons (sleeping place for 4 persons). There is a TV, WiFi and a rocking chair.

In the kitchen there is a wood heated stove, electric stove and a fridge. There is a large table with benches to enjoy the meals. The kitchen is fully equiped with dishes and everything you need for cooking, eating and drinking. From the tap you get fresh cold water directly from the well nearby.

Upstairs there is a bedroom with two double beds and one single bed (beds for 5 persons). Additionally matrasses for the floor as beds. From the upstairs bedroom you can go to the balcony.

In the separate building, we call it ”Aitta”. There are 2 small rooms with each beds for 2 persons (beds for 4 persons). Here you can sleep in the summer time.

Sauna is heated with wood and gives a smooth heat. In the washing room you get fresh cold water from the water tap. Hot water you get when you heat the sauna oven. The water from tap is drinkable. There is no shower, as it is a traditional finish sauna with bowls and scoops.

There is a wood cottage, ”Kota”, where you can make fire and cook on fire. This is the place to sit in the evenings. Mostly this is the place where the kids want to sleep.

On the yard there is a valleyball place. In the small cabin you find lots of water toys and eqipment for outdoor games.

In the wood storage you find dry wood for your fire.

At the lake shore there is additionally a open fire place with benches.
Toilet is a traditional Finnisch outdoor toilet in a separate building (it is outside: you have to go first out to get to the toilet).

Kömmäkköniemi is a paradise for the children, as the yard is very large and the lake shore is sandy and it goes shallow in to the water. Pets are also very welcome!

Smoking is forbidden inside the house.

Next neighbour is about 1 km away.
Next small town is Vieremä, 12 km and Iisalmi 30 km. Airport Kuopio about 1,5 h driving and Kajaani about 1 h. There you can take a rental car.
National Park Talaskangas is about ½ h driving.

Kömmäkköniemi is an excellent place to spend your free time and relax.

Please leave this beautiful place in the same condition as before your arrival - dishes washed and everything cleaned. Absolute ban on smoking in the house and in the tower.
Nearest neighbor is approx. 1 km away. The nearest option for shopping is in Vieremä, which is approx. 12 km away.
Kuopio airport nearby, where you can take a rental car, 1.5 hour drive.
Talaskangas Nature Reserve about 20 minutes drive away.
