Ontsnap naar het bos in het wilde en schilderachtige Daniel Boone National Forest in Londen, Kentucky. U zult genieten van ontspannen op de veranda of in de hangmat om de vogels te bekijken. Ons eigendom is een gecertificeerde nationale natuurhabitat en is de thuisbasis van allerlei soorten wilde dieren en grenst aan het bos. Het huis met 2 slaapkamers ligt op een heuvelrug en krijgt de hele dag mooie zon. We bieden nu dit geweldige huis voor uw plezier. Ontsnap naar het bos en ga er even tussenuit!

Onze 22 hectare grenst aan het Daniel Boone National Forest en is relatief rustig en afgelegen. Omgeven door het bos, zult u hier geen ander huis, auto of persoon zien. Omdat we het bos moeten delen, hoort u af en toe machines of sleepstripgeluid vooral in het weekend, maar voor het grootste deel is het vrediger en rustiger. We hebben hier altijd graag gewoond!

** Let op: we hadden voormalige huurders die roken en we hebben het huis volledig opnieuw geverfd en elk oppervlak gewassen en ontgeurd en blijven werken aan het elimineren van de rookgeur in het huis, ook verwarmden we het huis in de winter met onze houtkachel, als je gevoelig bent, is dit huis niets voor jou. We staan rokers toe, roken alleen buitenshuis, met behulp van de meegeleverde asbakken (onder de gootsteen).

The Bird House - Perfect Getaway

The Bird House was just as advertised; quiet, private, & peaceful - except for the bird visitors. We had turkeys, hawks, pleated woodpecker, gold finches, Indigo Buntings, hummingbirds, and a host of others. It was the perfect jumping off point for hikes in the Daniel Boone Natl Forest, and the porch was the perfect spot for coffee in the mornings and spending our non-hiking days. In fact, we enjoyed the porch so much, some days it was hard to leave and explore. Carey was a fantastic host & went out of his way to accommodate our needs related to allergies. The home was very clean, & well equipped. I could go on & on, but you get the idea. It is a great place to disconnect & reconnect. We will be back!

Wish we stayed longer

Honestly, sitting on the porch relaxing, I've never hear so many birds chirping! Lovely setting, great accommodations with all the modern amenities needed. Hubby even enjoyed the sounds of the Sat nite drag races down the road, so we stopped there as well. Something for both of us.

Everything was good

Everything went well & they were really nice. Was good communication & directions from them. The house was really cute & we also got to meet Carey and the two dogs. I also made a fire each night. Will rent from them in the future 👍👍

Carey is the full-time host & property manager, while Sue, not yet retired, works behind the scene in the home office, making sure the bills get paid, the taxes filed & keeping up with our online listings.

Our 22-acre property borders the Daniel Boone National Forest along the northwest boundary and is about midway between Woods Creek Lake to the north, Laurel Lake to the south, City of London to the east and the Wild and Scenic Rockcastle River to the west. The natural beauty, peace and solitude in the general area is what really drew us here. Our cozy home in the Daniel Boone National Forest is in a rural, forested area. Close enough to the modern world yet far enough away to escape daily life and traffic. Its always 10 degrees cooler here in the woods! The Daniel Boone National Forest in the Appalachian foothills is a temperate, mixed mesophytic appalachian rain forest with amazing and unique flora, fauna & biota. You'll marvel at the sandstone karst terrain and caves found in this unique area. We love our little piece of the forest and hope you will too!

Many of our guests tell us how this area is every bit as beautiful as the Great Smoky Mountain region minus all the traffic and we agree! Our 22 acres borders the Daniel Boone National Forest and is relatively quiet and secluded. Surrounded by the woods, you will not see another house, car or person here, except the occasional neighbor hiker. As we to have to share the forest, you may hear the occasional machinery or dragstrip noise especially on weekend nights but for the most part, it is more peaceful and serene. We have always loved living here! With over 40 years experience in food manufacturing and quality assurance, you can be sure that this great little home in the woods will be sparkling clean and disinfected/sanitized prior to your arrival! We follow all CDC guidelines on COVID-19 cleaning/disinfecting and we are vaccinated!
