Perfect hide-out for discovering Cote d'Azur
Very clean, tidy place that has been maintained equally well. Not a flake of dust anywhere on the shelves. We stayed for 6 nights in one of 2 rooms that Pierre and Martine have available for guests on their premises. The room is not extremely large, but offers enough space to lay out clothes in a closet and put your luggage in a corner, and of course has a toilet and separate bathroom. Clean, comfortable bed, we really had some good night's sleep here. The house is on a dead end street, so the surroundings are quiet and peaceful both day and night. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Small requests are dealt with immediately. They really try to bend over backwards to fullfill any possible need. In the morning, a French breakfast was served by Martine including fresh figs that Pierre plucked from his sister's nearby. Delightful treats they are. We cooked our own dinner twice using the summer kitchen that is available for guests, including cutlery, and had our dinner outside in the shimmering August night. The town of Le Muy itself offers a lot of basic needs such as gas stations and bakeries, as well as a very good local restaurant called Le Jardin (just behind the Casino supermarket). Furthermore, Le Muy is an ideal base camp for discovering the whole of the Southern cost line. All the way from Marseille to Monaco, most highlights and cities are just 30 minutes away, an hour at most. We took several daytrips to St Tropez, Nice, Monaco and Frejus and rented bikes to enjoy the scenery further, with only 60-90 minutes travel time by car. In short, we had a very pleasant stay with caring, attentive hosts and made the most out of our trip to the Cote d'Azur. We would no doubt recommend this affordable location.
