Park Lodge Garden Cottage has easy walking access on the ground floor accommodation: Hallway, lounge/dining-room, kitchen/breakfast room, one double bedroom containing one 5 ft. bed, one single bedroom containing one 3''6" bed and one double pull-down futon settee in reception/dining-room and bathroom: basin, bath with shower attachment and toilet. Secluded stone-walled courtyard patio garden with garden furniture.
Gas central heating in all rooms, electricity and bed linen are included, cot, Freeview flat screen 40" TV/radio and DVD in the living/dining room with electric cooker, mini cooker, microwave, griddle, hob, toaster fridge/freezer and separate freezer in the kitchen/breakfast room.

Windermere, Oxenholme and Kendal railway and bus/coach stations are close by with local buses passing Park Lodge Apartment and Park Lodge Garden Cottage then travelling throughout the National Park.

Myself and my friends stayed at the cottage for a night and we had a great time. Everything about the cottage is good and we felt really at home. Would have been great if the bathroom was a little bigger though. I would stay here again if I get a chance!
Disappointing. The property was not as described and so many snags that we were surprised how anyone could have a comfortable stay.
Floors were wood throughout, which looks smart. However, the floors in the lounge, bedroom and bathroom were warped. So much so that the bedroom door could not be opened fully, and if shut it was difficult to open at all. Definitely a fire hazard. The single bedroom was accessible only from outside the main property, from the courtyard garden. Certainly not as described in on the website, and hence my elderly mother had to sleep in the main bedroom while my wife and I slept in the lounge on the futon. The bathroom was disaster -- the ceiling height in the bath area was 4foot 11 inches! There was no way to have a shower, and when I rang the property manager/owner I was told I could shower while sitting in the bath!! The kitchen did not have worktops, just appliances placed on low cupboards, and a table.
All the switches for the lights throughout the property were on a single board in the hall; no way to turn on or turn off any light from individual rooms. Certainly unexpected arrangement. And no curtains anywhere, just venetian blinds and roller blinds. The only thing which was decent was the central heating.
And pretty expensive too. Do not waste your money, even if you are desperate for a place to stay. We tried to get some rooms at nearby hotels but could not find anything suitable.

Flat with no window, cannot breath, bathroomn is 3 feet high, no towels provided. a room in the back of house is not for people to live- spider everywhere.
Stayed there for 3 nights with my family. Overall, the experience was good. The owner was responsive to calls and provided with all necessary guidelines and support. The accommodation itself is average. The bedroom and living room are nice, kitchen is fully equipped, but then I assume the room wasn't initially built as a kitchen since the cookers are mobile. The only concerns I encountered were the bathroom, which is built under the stairs, and the extra single bedroom in the garden. The ceiling in the bathroom was pretty low, thus it is impossible to stand straight in 2/3 of the bathroom. The extra bedroom has a gas/water heating machine (I assume) installed right in it, and appeared to be an improvised bedroom as it wasn't initially built as a bedroom.
Despite these concerns, they merely affected my stay as I spent most of my time travelling around Lake District.

Park Lodge Apartment and Park Lodge Garden Cottage are both within 5 minutes easy strolling distance of villages, woods, and lakeshores and countless trails, moor land and fells with all the amenities the Lake District National Park has to offer. Holiday activities include: painting, riding, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, cycling, mountain biking, golfing and fell walking, or leisurely strolls beside the world-renowned Lake Windermere, the marina and steamer piers at Bowness-on-Windermere. A visit to the Lake District is not complete without a cruise on Lake Windermere, where boats can also be hired.
The many visitor attractions nearby include: Beatrice Potter's home and museum. Brockhole Visitors' Centre, Lake Aquarium at Lakeside at Newby Bridge is close by. Countless National Trust historical houses abound in this fascinating area with Blackwell, Holker Hall in Cartmel, Sizergh Castle, and Levens Hall to name but a few. The home of William Wordsworth, the poet is at Dove Cottage and William Wordsworth’s museum both close by in the Lakeland village of Grasmere with John Ruskin's elegant home at Brantwood and museum are both nearby in the Lakeland village of Coniston by Lake Coniston. Alfred Wainwright demonstrated his great love of the Lake District by his many feted walks on his much-loved Cumbrian Fells as he portrayed in his numerous celebrated illustrated travel guidebooks about the Lake District.
