This is a fantastic, excellently homely, sweet, small apartment equipped with all you need. Located in this wonderful, quiet (car-free) area you can do lovely walks at any time of the day... I came to spent 3 days and nights with my dear lover and we felt like honeymoon. The kitchen has really everything you'll need. You won't find privacy from your partner if you needed it, cuz everything is open, which is great! Lovely view. Good smell.
However and much to our despair, we could not rate the apartment "excellent" due to the old lady neighbor from downstairs. Even though we TIPTOED (and i'm not kidding here!) she hollered and yelled off cursing words in Portugese and hammered a broomstick against the low ceiling. I felt sorry for her, but we moved as quietly as we could.
Even though i would LOVE to return to that beautiful place, the latter pt would make me think twice. If you go to bed early: no problem!!

Die freundliche und sehr entgegenkommende Gastgeberin Maria vermietet hier ein süßes, heimeliges, sehr freundlich und einladendes Apartment mit bildwerter Aussicht. Man findet alles, was man braucht. Die Küche ist gute ausgestattet und falls es mal an etwas fehlt, ist Maria gleich zu Stelle. (Außerdem gibt es ein süßes Willkommens-Geschenk, mmh).
Die Gegend ist natürlich einzigartig. Mitten in der Altstadt, keine Autos (!!) - also ruig. Dieser Teil Lissabons verführt zu nächtlich-romantischen Spaziergängen; auch kann man von hier sehr gut überall hin starten/ und ist gleich am Fernbahnhof!
Für uns Verliebte war es fast genau das Richtige!
Eigentlich verdient dieses Apartment eine sehr gute Benotung, aber leider gibt es da die außerst lärmempfindliche ältere Nachbarsdame von unten. Trotz dem wir auf ZEHENSPITZEN (und das ist Kein Scherz!) geschlichen sind, begann sie standepede auf portugiesisch, schreiend zu fluchen und mit dem Besenstiel gegen den Deckenputz einzudräschen. Mir erschien das alles andere als normal und sie tat mir auch wirklich leid. Aber das zog doch die Lebensqualität weit runter, obwohl es sonst PERFEKT ist. Für Frühschläfer stellt die Nachbarin eventuell kein "Problem" dar.

Reactie van de eigenaar The neighbour in question, who lived beneath my floor, at that time, it was particularly sensitive to noise, due to her old age.
However, after questioning the other neighbours, I received information that these guests in particular were rather noisy, especially after midnight, which is unpleasant, in any country, generating dissatisfaction in everyone.
In more than 40 renting of my apartment, during the past 2 years, this was one of the few situations where this happened.
And I regret the inconvenience for everyone.
However, you are very much welcome, with a special discount, to encourage a policy of good neighbourliness, after all, in Alfama we are in a historic district whit real people, therefore real neighbours too ;-)
